One of the coolest places in Zurich is the Offene Rennbahn Oerlikon. It's an old concrete race track built in 1912 for bicycle racing. Once a year, they use it for show runs with vintage race cars and motorcycles. So they did yesterday. And holy fucking christ, what an amazing event! Watching and hearing those old Maseratis, Bugattis and Jaguars blasting by made the hairs on my arms stand up. What if, I tried to imagine, if they opened the track to a couple of hot rods? Just for a few rounds, fellows. Please, just for a few rounds!
FUEL needs no introduction to you. And it seems like whatever editor Luke Ray does, he does it with so much passion and strive for perfection, it's bound to become awesome. Just like his latest project Fuel Tank TV. The first video "factory 6" is launching this upcoming sunday, so don't miss it. In the meantime, you can check out the promising trailer.
I dig early 60s bubbletops. And I like black cars. So, it doesn't get much better than this 1961 Olds coupe, owned by Mark Garza's dad Arnold Garza, also a member of the Headhunters car club.
A chopped, black 1954 two door Chevy might sound like a bulletproof recipe for a cool car. But only if it's as nicely executed as this one. Seen at this year's HAMB BBQ.
Less is more, even when it comes to paint. Well, at least sometimes. To prove my point I gotta show you this paintless Falcon I just found while tumbling through my Santa Maria 2011 pics. There's just something about this car. It's simple and it's cool as hell. And it's a fuckin shame I didn't take more pics of it. But I thought, at least it might make for a bare metal monday special. So, here are two more great bare metal rides for your viewing pleasure on this fabulous monday morning.
