virgil's vision
Some shapes are hard to improve on. Maybe that's what custom builder Richard Zocchi thought to himself when he started reworking a 1956 Chrysler Windsor. Sure the chopped top is no easy feat but it helps making the already striking lines of Virgil Exner's design look even more dramatic. This car seems to be around for quite some time already but it nevertheless was an impressive sight at this year's Grand National Roadster Show.

central coast cruisin'
I actually hate taking photos at car shows. The artifical light sucks and there's always a rope, a pole or just another guy disturbing the picture. What a relief it is to admire a wonderful car in its natural environment like on an open road or in a small town. And if you happen to catch that golden moment right after sunset, you're all set. Thanks Mark Garza for letting me shoot your car.

help the crazy cruisers
You may have heard it on the facebook news... The club house of the Crazy Cruisers car club has burnt down. Luckily, no one got injured, but there were several club cars and projects sitting in the shop together with more than 25 years of collected parts and memories. Sure, money cannot bring all of this back but it definitely helps for a new start. In order to help bringing the Crazy Cruisers back from the ashes, Chris and Manu from Custom Parts & Wear teamed up with renowned kustom kulture artist Etienne "Empire 32" from France who created a great looking t-shirt. All the money they raise from the shirts sale will be donated to the Crazy Cruisers. Send an e-mail to INFO@C-PW.CH to order your support shirt!

an afternoon at... the nhra museum
I already had heard a lot of good things about the NHRA Museum. But somehow I never made it there, even though I've been to Pomona for three times or something. Except for today: Here's a little slideshow.
More pictures here.

an evening with... the vintage hammer garage
If you're into lakes racing and/or tastefully built traditional hot rods and kustoms you surely heard about the Vintage Hammer Garage. The shop recently moved to its new location in Riverside CA. And in order to celebrate the new premises in style, shop owner Fabian Valdez decided to throw a nice little party. We had the pleasure to join the festivities and took a couple of pictures at the shiny new shop. See them here.

gnrs 2012: outdoor action
GNRS isn't just about the show cars inside the buildings. There's so much going on in the alleys. Here's a small selection of my personal highlights. Find the completed gallery here.
